Take part in a circular route exploring the Peak District.

Join in with other adventurers of all experience levels and ages, to walk the full 100km, 75km, 50km or even 25km!

With no fundraising target, we’re asking you to simply raise as much as you can! A lovely way of doing something different this autumn while helping cats in need.

What is the fundraising target?

We’re asking you to simply raise as much as you can as there is no set fundraising target for this event!

How far is the walk?

You choose your distance: 25km (copper), 50km (bronze), 75km (silver) or 100km (gold ultra). Each distance has a target time to try to beat, from nine hours to hike 25km, up to 24 hours to walk or run the huge 100km Gold Ultra Peak District Challenge.

What support will I get by taking part in this event?

You’ll be fully supported by our Events team from the moment you sign up, including getting:

  • dedicated support from our Events team, ready to answer your questions and share their top tips
  • a brilliant fundraising pack containing information, top tips and sponsorship forms to help you hit your fundraising target
  • a branded t-shirt to wear with pride during your training and walk
  • access to our Facebook community so you can connect with other cat lovers and exchange ideas, tips and advice
  • water and refreshments at checkpoints
  • the choice to self-navigate the route or join a walking group accompanied by a fully qualified mountain leader

Why should I take part in the walk for Cats Protection?

Two reasons, both are as important as each other:

  • firstly, to help cats and kittens in need across the country. Your generosity and kindness enables our teams to go on caring for abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens
  • secondly, for yourself! By taking part in this walk, it can be a fantastic and fun way to challenge yourself and mix up your day to day, get fit and raise vital donations for cats in need. We like to think of it as the good kind of nervous. You’re getting out of your comfort zone but you’ll be having so much fun doing it!
I’m not sure I can do this long a route. Do you have shorter distance events?

Yes! We understand that not everyone wants to walk a minimum of 25km and we have lots of shorter distance events available for you, including many 10km options. Choose your event here.

Alternatively, you can do your own local sponsored walk instead. Simply register your challenge with us and we'll support you every step of the way!
