Almost half the cats we help are cared for thanks to the kindness of people who remember our charity in their Will.
Below are just a couple of examples of how cats are benefiting from the kind charity gifts we receive in Wills.
Seven brand-new cat pens have been built in Sussex thanks to gifts in Wills left to Cats Protection Worthing & District.
The pens were constructed at Cuckfield Cattery and are run by the volunteers at Cats Protection Mid Sussex. They provide a safe place for cats to stay until they can find loving new homes. Toby and Gypsy are just two of the cats who have already benefited from the pens before being adopted by new owners.
Volunteer Liz Gross said: “It's wonderful to have these pens up and running now. We have always had a great relationship with Cuckfield Cattery, and they went above and beyond in helping us achieve our aim.
“Without the legacy generously gifted to us, we may not have been able to fund the purchase and build of these pens. It’s wonderful that people feel they would like to leave a legacy or make a donation to Cats Protection, as this enables us to help more cats and kittens in need.”

When four-month-old Monsieur Le Floof arrived in our care, the team knew something was wrong. After being examined by the vet, the young kitten was found to have a painful eye infection caused by cat flu.
Unfortunately, Monsieur Le Floof’s eye was so severely damaged by the infection, there was no option but to operate to remove it. We could only afford his costly operation thanks to generous donations from kind cat-lovers, like those left to us in Wills.
Monsieur Le Floof soon recovered well from his operation and his future is looking brighter in his new home.
At Cats Protection we’ve been standing up for cats since 1927.
