What are creative ways to remember a loved one?

Making a donation in their memory is not the only way to remember someone who has died. Another creative way to keep their memory alive is by undertaking a sponsored event in their honour. Take on a physical challenge, such as a sponsored run, walk or swim, or put on a bake sale or virtual quiz event in their memory.

Although during this time some of our activities have been postponed, you can still register for a range of different events.

If you’d like to fundraise in memory of someone, a JustGiving page is a great way to share memories, connect people and can be a fitting tribute to someone you have lost.

What are some ways to remember a loved one on their birthday?

Marking birthdays and anniversaries can be difficult. If you’re looking for things to do in memory of someone who died in aid of Cats Protection, why not consider one of the following ideas?

  • Make an annual donation to their favourite charity or cause

If they had a specific charity or cause in mind, making a small donation in their memory could be one way to keep their memory alive. We appreciate all donations made to Cats Protection as they help us to continue looking after cats and kittens in need throughout the UK.

  • Spend the day doing something they loved doing

If your loved one had a special hobby or pastime they enjoyed, spend the day doing what they loved. You could even create an event in their honour and raise money for their favourite charity.

Grief support

Whether you’re struggling with the grief of losing a loved one, affected by COVID-19 or just need someone to talk to, there are a number of organisations that can help.

  • Cruse the bereavement charity offer support and advice to those who have lost someone
  • The Samaritans have a helpline available 24 hours a day for anyone in need of support
