Love Darg, meaning ‘a day’s work done for love’, is The People’s Friend magazine’s annual charity appeal. Over the years the Love Darg developed into a nationwide charity appeal that saw Friend readers make and donate thousands of gifts which were distributed to hospitals, children’s homes and hospices the length and breadth of the UK.

This year readers are being encouraged to knit mice in the 22 July edition and knit square comforters in the 29 July edition and to post them to one of our centres. The square comforters will be used for the cats in our care. We have asked readers to follow the safety instructions so our cats are able to use the knitted or crocheted squares and so that the mice can be used/sold.
