10th May 2024
These free and live events are aimed at primary aged children and will take place on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th May, as well as being repeated on Thursday 16th May. Schools are being urged to apply as soon as possible as places are filling up fast!
Children will discover the positive impact movement can have on the wellbeing of both people and pets through quizzes, polls and special celebrity videos featuring Fury from Gladiators (Jodie Ounsley) - and TV stars Max and Harvey!
The events are hosted by the Pet Education Partnership – a collaboration of Cats Protection, Blue Cross, Dogs Trust, PDSA, RSPCA, SSPCA, USPCA and Woodgreen, to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week.
Curriculum-linked supporting lesson plans and fun classroom activities can be downloaded both before and after the events. These include simple crafts and creating innovative toys and games encouraging all pets to get moving more!
Shelley Brown, Head of Education for Cats Protection said, “SATS week feels the perfect time to be talking about wellbeing in school. Sign up your class today and help them discover not only the importance of wellbeing for themselves, but also how their actions can help the wellbeing of pets too!”
