Lin Lockwood, Branch Development Manager, said: “I have been astounded by the contribution our volunteers have given to the Tendring & District Branch of Cats Protection. Without them, the help that thousands of cats across the area have received would not have been possible.”
The branch is now on the prowl for new branch team members to help with looking after felines on a short-term basis while they get back on their paws.
“We’re looking for branch team members who want to join our group of volunteers,” said Jenny Edwards, who has been volunteering for the Tendring Branch for the last 10 years.
“Volunteer fosterers provide a safe, stable and loving environment in their homes or in purpose built pens in their gardens. They help with hands-on care and accommodation for strays or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them. Some of our fosterers look after new mums and kittens and provide round-the-clock care to new-borns.
“Becoming a volunteer is also a great way to meet new friends – both human and feline.”
Anyone wishing to find out more about either of the roles should visit www.cats.org.uk/tendringor apply by contacting the branch 01255 744 014 or enquiries@tendring.cats.org.uk
