In memory of Mush

I never planned to get a cat. I was living in a flat and didn't feel it was suitable to have one. However Mush was living in a very dysfunctional household, plus I was told that she didn't like going outside. So when I was asked to look after her for a couple of weeks I said "No, but I will take her over permanently if you'd let me". So Mush came to live with me, and so started a wonderful relationship.... About a year later, I was able to move to a flat in the bottom half of a house. It even had a small garden. I thought this would be irrelevant to Mush - but no, it turned out that she LOVED being outside. So much for her being an indoor cat! When I first got her she was very nervous around people. She would never sit on my lap, but she'd follow me from room to room, and sit next to me on the sofa. So I knew that in her own way she loved me. Then one night on my bed, when I'd had her for about two years, she crept up on top of me and went to sleep. I was thrilled to bits! After that she slept on top of me every night. Playful, funny, sweet, naughty, sneaky, charming, and wonderful, she stole my heart.
