In memory of Oreo

Oreo was an independent , inquisitive and loving cat . He managed to spend time with everybody in our family in different ways . Looking through the families pictures he seemed to have time for everyone , not sure how he fitted us all in during his naps !  We bought him as kitten and he was my daughter’s companion from her last year in primary 2019 school to A level exams in 6th form  2026 . Oreo and my daughter had a special relationship and he seemed to look at her like his equal in the house so would take her spot on the bed or chase her playfully around the room The whole family fussed over him and he knew who could what specially for him , be it getting fed ,getting dried after get wet from rain or just hanging out in the middle of the night with me  . The whole street knew him and when he was younger he would be up and down the street and was so friendly to people . As he got older he use to spend more time on our driveway especially in hot weather or sleeping in the garden and didn’t venture as far which meant we got to see more him . He was regularly seated at the gate keeping an eye on the road or waiting for his mum back home from a to drive. He could tell as soon as we pulled into our road and would meet us at the car ( where he might pop in and scratch the car mats sometimes or have a look around the car ) . He use to favour sitting on my car roof so he could survey things properly . I miss seeing him perched on the car roof or sleeping in front of the front door keeping guard .
