In memory of Polly J-B

Polly joined our family in 2015, already a mature cat, she was nervous and anxious and it took many days of her hiding behind the washing machine before she could be coaxed into the living room. We were told she never purred and could only silently meow, however, with us she found her voice. Once she had given you her trust she was steadfastly loyal and loving. She loved to play (training for hunting I suspect), especially with peacock feathers and pieces of long grass, chasing and running in crazy circles - she rewarded our diligence (sadly) by bringing in various 'presents' of birds and mice. The nine years Polly lived with us have not been easy, and Polly was often the main reason why I managed to get out of bed day after day. I will forever miss her gentle paw on my forehead, her beautiful head nuzzle and soft greeting every time I came home. Her little face peering between the banisters to make sure it was us, before trotting down, tail erect, to meow and purr her pleasure at our return. A very special memory was when the perseverance, patience, and gentleness of my grandson was finally rewarded by Polly letting him stroke her. She responded with lots of head nuzzles, and by following him around rather than running away from him! Polly, thank you so much for your companionship, I hope you enjoyed ours. Rest in peace now, sleeping the long snooze. You were very special and much missed.
