The online craftalong is being hosted with Moon Hare Studio on Monday 2 July and those taking part can choose from six different-coloured, limited-edition kits to match their favourite moggy.

Once signed up, all materials needed will be sent out directly - along with an invitation to join a private Facebook group where creations can be shared with fellow crafters.

The cost of taking part is £20 with half of the cost going to help the cats and kittens in Cats Protection’s care.

“We’re so excited to be teaming up with Moon Hare Studio,” said Charlie Preston, Fundraising Mass Participation Event Officer for Cats Protection. “Their bespoke coaster-making kit contains everything that people need to create their own moggy mosaic.

“Each kit sold will also help us to cover vital veterinary costs for the unwanted cats in our care. It could pay for a flea and worm treatment for one feline or microchips for two felines, so the funds are gratefully appreciated and will make a really big difference.

“Cats and crafting are the perfect combination and we hope to keep growing our Craft for Cats community.”

Those interested can sign up on the charity’s website from Monday 23 May.

The charity will also provide a video recording for those who can’t make it on the day.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and helps around 200,000 cats each year through a national network of around 210 volunteer-run branches and 37 centres.
