Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity and our vision is a world where every cat is treated with kindness and an understanding of its needs.
Cats are at the centre of everything we do and our objectives are: homing, neutering and educating people about cats and their care.
We help thousands of cats across the UK each year thanks to our network of dedicated volunteers, staff and supporters.
Thew difference you will make to cats and people
You’ll be supporting your local cat centre by helping to minimise potential health and safety risks. You’ll use checklists provided by us to assess hazards and, where necessary, put controls in place. You’ll play an important part in providing support to both volunteers and employees, enabling them to carry out their roles safely and effectively and therefore help more cats in need.
You can expect us to
- make you feel welcome, included and respected in line with our values and behaviours
- support you in having a positive and impactful experience at Cats Protection
- cover agreed out-of-pocket expenses in line with our Expenses Policy
- provide you with access to learning, development and engagement opportunities
What we need from you
You'll be:
- conducting a variety of checks around the site
- updating checklists and sharing any concerns with the team
- completing paperwork and recording progress
Time expectation
Our health and safety volunteers usually spend 4 to 6 hours per month in this role, which is flexible and can be shared by more than one volunteer if needed.
You may be just the volunteer we've been looking for!
